Artist's Comments

The creeping hands, that after dark;
Grope my hair; caress my skin.
Whispered names, that leave their mark;
Upon my flesh: scored, pale and thin.
I can't explain these things I feel;
My God! I hear and now I see!
A glimpse of shadows underneath;
Alive like death, if death could breathe.
I think, now;
It's inside of me;
Directing mind; directing me;
Jesus Christ! This handless thing!
What curse is this, that I did bring?
My God!
My God!
What's happening?

It wasn't me.
It isn't me.

No, it's you!

It cannot be.

Ha ha ha
He he he weeee

Come with us

I want to ... what?

You did this

... who? I did not!

Come with me
I will not go.
Leave this life
I will not, no!

Look up!
NO! LET ME BE!
LOOK UP!
No! Leave me, please.
LOOK UP!
... no
LOOK UP, AND SEE!
...
...
...
It's
Me

Many thanks Musket ;)

I felt the painting in this piece [link] 'Following Shadows' was a bit threadbare and lacking in proper composition. So I incorporated the image in a brief moment of lucidity, during which I found some really nice stock to play with. :)

Thats very dark. I love it! Thanks for using my stock!

Thanks, glad you like it ^^, I know the tentacles aren't very visible in this one but I like to think of them as subtle tendrils :)

Wonderful job! I love how you've incorporated so many stock images and make them look as though they belong to the same picture. Sometimes it's hard to get lighting and texture right on so much stock, so great job on that. The concept as a whole is great, and I think the tendrils look great in their subtle fashion. The painter waiting for the spirits of those he/she has yet to paint to tell her their story. It's really an amazing concept.

Thanks Driven, for taking the time to write such an observant comment! ;) Lighting is tough sometimes, particularly when you're working with 10+image elements but I find that the viewers eye usually fills in the missing pieces if you just concentrate on the light on the main subject and their immediate environment. Having a BIG bright background picture to work with as well always helps. I personally find it easier to work from light to dark with manips.

Nice interpretation you've gotten from it too ;) x

You're very welcome. For me, I know it helps to know what I'm doing right in a piece, so I like to point out those things in other pieces too. I also find working from light to dark is also easier. Darkness masks a lot of inconsistancies.
