Unhallowed Knight

Curse the whores and damn their souls;

Spider's whisper, heart of newt;

Object of long dead desire.
Astral fire, at river split, Goddess grant this ageless spell,
and send you weeping, back to Hell.

I loved creating this piece. The ambiguity of the situation and possible outcome was something which was really hard to find, juggling 3 different ideas around at once. Eventually I settled for this one though. Has he come for the child? Will the witches evocation drive him away...or merely anger him and force him to leap across or trot menacingly over the felled tree in the background? Symbolically for me it visualises the protectiveness of a Mother...shielding her child from the 'nightmares' of the world, the horrors of war; the rider being very masculine and military and hellish. My favourite so far without a doubt.
